Who is Little.Dog.Tech?
Little Dog Tech is a company owned and managed by a local Urbandale resident. He has
many years experience with computers and almost anything with a plug. Now, he is putting his
experience and knowledge to use by offering technology related services for lower prices than
his competitors. An architect and designer by trade, he has been head of the IT department
for more than one company. The 'go-to' guy for everyone that knows him, there isn't much he
hasn't fixed. He is more than qualified to work with many of the most common computer
systems in use today. He has experience with Microsoft products, a plethora of programs, and
hardware of all sorts. If it uses electricity, he can work with it. He is the kind of guy who actually
goes to computer stores to pass the time. Most of all, this is what he loves to do. Call us today
and he'll do his best to help you with your problem as fast and efficiently as possible.
Why Should I Use Little.Dog.Tech?
Customer service is number one! You should use us because we treat our customers
right. We know our stuff. We have many years experience with computers and other
electronics. If we don't already know how to fix it, we'll figure it out at no additional cost. Our
prices are lower than our competitors, plus we charge a flat rate for most things. This ensures
that you know what you are going to pay up front. We are a local company with the ability to
forge relationships with our clients. The second time you use us, you will get the same great
service you did the first time.
Couldn't I Just Use One of Those Big Box Stores?
Sure, you can use one of those guys. Just keep in mind that most of them actually send your
computer somewhere else to have the work done. This often takes MUCH longer, sometimes a
few week Then, if something isn't right, you have to wait another couple of weeks. Also, with
their big advertising budgets and the cost of Volkswagen Beetles so high, they have to charge
more to make it worth their while. There is no substitute for local, personal service.
Can you fix my computer over the phone?
Yes, but it's going to take much longer and cost much more! We prefer to actually be with the
machine we are working on. There are certain things you can't do over an Internet connection
or the phone. The action of the mouse, the latency in the start-up procedure, or the sound of
the hard drive can all help diagnose a problem. These are not things that one can observe
with a remote connection. There is NO replacement for actual hands on troubleshooting.
I think I have a virus, what should I do?
The first thing to do is run an online virus scan. Go to Goggle and search for 'online virus
scanner'. Trend Micro is a good one to use. You can access it directly here. Chances are, the
online scanner will find the virus. If nothing is found, you could still have a virus, but probably
not. There are many different problems that can LOOK like a virus, but are not. Contact us
and we can help you figure it out.
I just accidentally deleted a file, what should I do?
First, make sure it is actually gone. If you haven't emptied the recycle bin, it might still be
there! If you have emptied the recycle bin, then stop using your computer and contact
us! The more you use your computer, the greater the chances that file will be overwritten and
therefore gone for good. We can hook your drive up to an external computer and access it
without having to boot the computer.
So, Whats with the name?
The logo and name is actually a reference to the his dog. Why did he use her for his mascot?
Why not? She's cute!
Do you have to come to my home?
No, we can always take your machine back to the shop to work on it. Sometimes this is best
anyway since I can stay up pretty late working on jobs. You probably wouldn't want me to be
there that late! But, if you have certain requirements, let us know. Basically, we will work
around you.
How long do you take?
Most jobs can be accomplished in one service call. Sometimes we might have to order a part,
or take more complex jobs back to our workshop. 70% of problems can be fixed in a day or
two, not the weeks it takes with those other guys. Either way, we are a heck of a lot faster than
sending it in!
